I am in the midst of completing my BFA at the University of Ottawa with a specialization in photography. The primary concerns of my practice include paths, memory, and time. Each portfolio is a series that explores the concept of familiar spaces. These spaces are investigated through walks, travelling, and by observing one location for a given time. Capturing moments I have seen within these landscapes allows me to make a physical entity onto which my memories become attached.
Calculating time helps to focus attention on what is seen at the instant of exposure as well as the invisible moments between photographs. I use the space between images as a visual device that encourages contemplation of the missing moments that can only be filled by memory.
