Agios Ioannis | 2018
Oil paint on wooden canvas, 8" x 10"
This summer, I had the privilege of going abroad for an artist residency in the small village of Agios Ioannis in Crete. During my stay, I witnessed a landscape incomparable with the ones I had seen previously; mountainous, vast and dreamlike. With this series of paintings, I created imaginary landscapes by using colors that reference six different locations. Each painting is an emotional response to places I often admired or analyzed during my stay in the village.
